Album | WE GO ON

Avifauna’s second album, We Go On, is the musical response to four years of a devastating social and political landscape where Svendsen attempts to navigate the rocky terrain of hopefulness and grief, both personally and politically. During this time, Svendsen learned to lean into her own vulnerability and to write collaboratively with her bandmates. The result of which is a broader expression by the members of the band, and a greater variety of styles and instrumentation.

Album | THE GYRE

The songs on their debut album The Gyre (2017) are inspired by the two years Svendsen and husband Robert Treta (drummer) spent on the edge of the ocean and jungle on the Pacific coast of Mexico, and by Svendsen’s passion for nature and the environment.
